Router settings
When the DINGO device has two or more network interfaces, it can be set up as a router. This means that one interface can be connected towards the Internet – also called the public interface. The other can service other devices with routed network traffic – also called the private interface connected to the private network (LAN).
Router: This radio item group determines if the DINGO device should be turned into a router. On turn DINGO device into router and Off turns the router-feature off.
LAN Interfaces: This radio item group determines what interface to use when servicing other devices with routed network traffic.
If one of the Ethernet-interfaces is used to connect towards the Internet (public interface), then the user can e.g choose the Wireless interface as the private interface. This means that an Access point, or also known as Hotspot, will be created. This is described in a separate chapter.
If the Wireless-interface is used as the public interface, then the user can only choose one of the Ethernet interfaces as the private interface.
If the Modem-interface is used as the public interface, then the user can choose between the Ethernet 0, Ethernet 1, Wireless or Both interfaces as the private interface. if Both is chosen then the Ethernet 0 and wireless adapters will be "bridged" into one.
